Stay Calm and Have a Cupcake

Girl Scouts sleeping under the stars
Kids of all ages love cupcakes.  And they are even more fun to decorate than they are to eat.  Yesterday my Girl Scouts and I had a cupcake decorating meeting (party!) and, as usual, they really showed off their creative talents.  Here is a sampling of their work.  I wonder how many are left today?

The fish were biting!

Most of our ideas came from "Hello Cupcake", a great investment if you love decorating. There a few books in the series and they all have fun ideas of how to take candy, cookies, etc. and create adorable things.

Our sunflower garden.  I think Van Gogh would be impressed!

We used small ziplock bags to pipe on our icing.  Put incing in the bag, snip a small hole in one corner and voila, you are are ready to go.  And the best part is that you can just toss the bag when you are done (=no cleanup!)

Who left the barn door open?  This guy appeared in the middle of the evening.

The girls brought cupcake pans with them to easily tranport their work home.
